Disney's latest project in North Carolina is the residential community named "Asteria."
Asteria is located in the Chatham County seat, Pittsboro, as part of the Chatham Park. It aims to build a 1,500 residential community, including homes for 55+ residents.
Asteria is inspired by the Greek goddess Asteria, and its design incorporates nature-friendly features, such as walking trails, parks, and greenspaces.
Asteria's pricing in the highly coveted Triangle area remains undisclosed, but nearby Chatham Park homes start around $400,000.
Asteria plans approximately 4,000 homes, offering single-family and multi-family options. Amenities include a clubhouse, wellness center, community garden, and an extensive trail system.
Asteria homeowners become part of a club with planned amenities like a wellness and recreation center, restaurant, sport courts, and enrichment programming, reflecting the Disney lifestyle.
The team at Walt Disney Imagineering has immersed themselves in the region, envisioning Asteria as a campus of discovery influenced by the nearby universities in the Research Triangle
The name Asteria pays homage to the native North Carolina aster flower and the Greek goddess Asteria, linking the Earth to the sky in the community's campus of discovery.
Asteria is the second announced Storyliving by Disney community in the U.S., following Cotino in California. It is in the very early stages of planning, with additional details released as they become available.
